This is somewhere between being a boutique hotel and a pure bijou of small but modestly stylish hotels that will put a modest smile on your face whilst contributing to the pleasures procured in Montparnasse and Paris itself. A family-run hotel and one done with pride and genuine commitment to making your stay work. Isabelle and Fiona on reception deserve your respect and my praise. There was a minor issue with the room towards the end of our stay which was remedied and responded to with consummate professionalism and helpfulness. Nothing is too much for the truly regal courtesy of Le Royal. Rooms are clean and comfortable; water is consistently hot and well pressured for sink and showering or taking a bath. Location could not be any better. Montparnasse is a haven of untouristic gems like the nearby cemetery and Hotel Istra plus accessing buses or RER/metro to venture elsewhere is a doddle even in the extreme heat that Paris was basking in when we stayed there. The Luxembourg gardens are also minutes away and a beauty of preserved history to while away time and not have your tranquility traduced when you return to the hotel as this is one place where you can rest assured that you will rest well when you return... A perfect stay in Paris

Right from the check in experience to the end of our stay, it was truly a great experience. The rooms are nice and pretty big compared to Paris standards. The hotel is centrally located to all major tourist attractions. One can easily catch the metro by walking a few minutes. The area of Montparnasse (where they hotel is located) is bustling through day and night with cafes near by. Though the street on which the hotel is located is not impacted with the noise. One can catch a good sleep here. One minor downside was the breakfast. While it's nice and homely, there aren't too many options there. So if given a choice, explore the cafes near by. This is nothing against the hotel as my overall experience with them was fantastic. And if I'm in Paris ever again, will surely want to book it.

Hotel is situated in a lovely part of Paris. Easily accessible to all the main tourist attractions and shopping centres about 10 minutes on the metro. The downstairs area of the hotel is lovely, well decorated, modern and the restaurant area is very well kept. The reception staff were informed, polite and welcoming throughout the trip. Our room was nice, a little dated and in need of some modernising (something that appears to be happening in other rooms in the hotel). Couple of chipped tiles in the bathroom, marks on the walls and frayed carpet. That said the room was comfortable had most of the amenities you could want (safe, fridge etc). The lack of a kettle in the room (something most people class as a basic essential nowadays) is an issue but you are welcome to help yourself to hot drinks from the breakfast area downstairs at any time. The biggest issue with the hotel, and pretty much the main/only reason we have given it 3/5 and wouldn't stay again is the noise within the hotel. The walls, ceiling and floor are thin and we were kept up most nights by other guests coming in and out. Zero noise from outside the hotel I should add! The cleaners also started at 8am (even on Sunday!!) There is about 8 rooms per floor and the hallway areas are quite small so we were woken every morning at 8am with the cleaner hoovering and moving items in and out of the cleaning closet. I should add we paid around £150 a night for a 3 night stay and we felt it was good value at this price for a city centre. However, the standard room rate on our room is currently advertised at around €350 a night for September. This would be excessive! Overall a pleasant experience but a need to modernise the room and a lack of sleep during the night hold this hotel back.

We have stayed here several times since 2010! It remains a favorite, and we always get positive feedback from all the people we have recommended it to. Excellent location, two of our favorite restaurants in walking distance, metro stops within a block! Hotel clean, nice sized rooms and bathrooms, charming breakfast room very helpful staff. Quick responses to emails— book directly with hotel!

The hotel was a small but cozy hotel close to Paris centre and the shoping areas, museums and jardins, the room size for our family(4 person) was very comfortable, it was a junior suit. the rooms and the hotel was very clean generaly, The breakfast is verg good, All the staff in the hotel were very friendly and halepfull. The check-in and out was really easy and fast.
